When School ends, hunger doesn’t. Together, lets make sure Durham kids are fed and ready for success
Local Families Need Your Help This Summer
For many Durham region students, the last day of school also means losing access to breakfast and meal programs that help sustain them during the school year.
This summer, Ignite Durham Learning Foundation is working to support 17,000 local families by providing grocery gift cards so parents can purchase nutritious, culturally appropriate food for their children.
Our goal is to raise $80,000 before summer is fully underway.
Last year, Ignite’s “After the Bell” initiative delivered more than 6,000 kilograms of food, provided nearly $20,000 in grocery gift cards, and supported 151 families across Durham Region.
But that need continues to grow.
Research consistenly shows that children learn better, focus better, and feel better when they have reliable access to healthy meals.
